Merchandising Manager

We are looking for a merchandising manager to join one of our quickly growing portfolio companies in Santa Monica, CA.

As merchandising manager, you will be responsible for growing the sales volume and profit for the categories showcased via this new content + commerce platform. Our initial categories include fashion, health & wellness, beauty, and electronics.

You will bring to the table an intimate understanding of brand, product, and culture trends. You will combine your innate sense of what’s trending with data to curate the products showcased.

You’ll be joining a team with backgrounds including Buzzfeed, YouTube, PopSugar, and more.

What you’ll do

• recognize and analyze trends early in their lifecycle

• strategize the growth of sales and profits for the categories showcased on the platform

• make projections and analyze differentials from plan

• bring a customer and market perspective to the selection process

• establish relationships with brands and creators

• work collaboratively across the company including closely with:

- Production to ensure all products are showcased appropriately

- Marketing to ensure product/category launches and draw the right buzz

- Design to ensure collateral created is suitable for the brands showcased

- Product to ensure the platform works for users from viewing through purchase

What you have

• 3+ years of buying experience

• ability to understand our customer holistically and based on data

• ability to think strategically and execute tactically
